Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation recently awarded Morton Hospital and Medical Center a $4,500 grant to purchase a continuous vital sign monitoring machine for its Pediatrics Department. The devices measure non-invasive blood pressure, temperature and other core vital signs, and have the ability to chart them over a specific period of time.
Paula Boothman, MSN, RNC, Nurse Manager of Obstetrics and Pediatrics, said the addition of the monitor is an asset to the Pediatrics Department. “We are constantly looking for ways to make our patients’ stays more comfortable, and this monitor will do just that,” said Boothman. “It allows the staff to observe the patients, with the least amount of discomfort and disturbance to them. We are very grateful to Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation and their commitment to Morton Hospital.”
The physicians had the very best bedside manner. They all did their best to put me very much at ease. I owe them my life.
