Morton Hospital will participate in the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk in Boston on Sunday, October 2. The annual celebration of survivorship raises millions of dollars every year for breast cancer research and awareness.
Last year, nearly 170 people walked with the Morton Hospital team, including hospital employees, breast cancer survivors, family members, friends and members of the hospital’s Cancer Care Community Advisory Board (CABbies). The team raised more than $6,000 for breast cancer research and programs in Massachusetts.
This year, Morton Hospital would like to invite all community members to join its walking team, as the hospital’s goal is to reach 200 walkers for the upcoming event.
Participants walking with Morton Hospital will receive a free “Fight Like a Girl” T-shirt. The American Cancer Society will provide bus transportation to and from the event for only $5 per person. Buses will depart from the hospital at 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the walk.
If you are interested in joining Morton Hospital’s team, or if you would like to make a donation, please contact Ginny Starvish, RN, Cancer Care Nurse Navigator, at (508) 828-7920. The deadline for T-shirts is Wednesday, September 14.
