Morton Hospital’s S1 Medical-Surgical Unit was recently selected as the recipient of the 2011 Beacon Hospice “Excellence in End-of-Life Care” Award. This year marked the third consecutive year that the unit received the award after being selected from a pool of hundreds of applicants throughout New England.
During a recent recognition ceremony, the hospital’s S1 staff was presented with a certificate of achievement for its outstanding commitment and lasting contribution to hospice care. The certificate was presented by Amy Ippolito-Kelly, Hospice Service Representative, and Patricia Cusack, Area Vice President of Business Development.
In explaining how Beacon Hospice chooses the award recipient each year, Cusack stated, “We look for a provider that engages and believes in hospice, participates in our educational components, and partners with Beacon Hospice in providing quality hospice care. This award is a testament to Morton Hospital’s S1 staff and the fabulous care they provide their patients.”
