Introduction to Breastfeeding
As a food, human milk remains the best choice for your baby. Human milk is a unique combination of fats, sugars, minerals, proteins, vitamins and enzymes that is custom-made to promote your baby's brain and body growth. The advantages continue as the true milk comes in and your baby continues breastfeeding. Studies show that breastfed babies have fewer ear infections, diarrhea, vomiting and acute respiratory illness. While cow's milk and formula can trigger allergic reactions and are often difficult for your baby to digest, your protein-rich milk is perfectly designed for your baby. The activity of sucking helps a baby by enhancing the development of oral muscles and facial bones. Breastfeeding is probably the most natural method of providing gratification and a sense of security to your baby.
