Elder Behavioral Health Services (EBHS) provides a multidisciplinary, integrative approach for treating older adults (age 55 and over) with behavioral, psychiatric or neuropsychiatric difficulties that require hospitalization. EBHS offers rapid assessment and focused intervention in a short-term setting while assuring coordinated and timely communication among treatment providers and referral sources. Our two on-staff psychiatrists collectively have more than 30 years of experience in geriatric psychiatry and are board certified in psychiatry and neurology.
We provide the highest quality of service and professionalism in order to help our patients achieve their maximum level of functioning and life satisfaction. We accept referrals from doctors, clinical social workers, and family members.
Psychiatric Consultative Services
Morton Hospital’s Elder Behavioral Health Services (EBHS) psychiatrists also provide psychiatric consultation services for hospital patients, independent of their role at the EBHS. Consultation to the Intensive Care, Medical, Surgical Pediatric, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units can be initiated upon the request of the patient’s attending physician. Indications for a specialty consult include, unremitting depression, psychosis, threats to harm self or others, agitation, confusion, mania and other acute changes in patient behavior.
