Program Components
The maternal child health component of Morton Home Care provides services to those of the Greater Taunton area that have given birth. Services are provided in the patients' home by a team of specialized nurses. The focus of the program is to assist mothers and infants with the transition to home, to assess the educational needs of the mother, and to evaluate the health status of the mother/infant.
Service Components
Nursing assessment and interventions focusing on well-being of mother/infant, prevention of complications and family teaching.
Collaboration/coordination of services with other agencies/professionals involved in care.
Eligibility Criteria
All maternal/infants from Morton Hospital and surrounding facilities.
Early discharge before 48 hours for vaginal delivery and 96 hours for C-section.

Mammography appointments are available Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you have discovered a lump in your breast, you will be seen as quickly as possible.
