Lymphedema is a situation in which the body has difficulty in fluid maintenance, resulting in swelling and fluid retention in parts of the body, specifically the arms and legs. This retention is often painful and debilitating, leading to decreased mobility and other medical concerns. Lymphedema can be the result of recent cancer treatments, poor or compromised circulation, limited mobility, or other medical complications.
Our Lymphedema Program boasts two certified physical therapists that provide 1-on-1 care, performing clinically up-to-date treatments and incorporating the four components of Complete Digestive Therapy:
1.) Manual Lymph Drainage
2.) Compression Therapy
3.) Remedial Exercises
4.) Skin Care
This program is held in the Rehabilitation Services Department at Northwoods Medical Center, located at 2005-2007 Bay Street in Taunton. To set up a consultation, please contact our office at (508) 828-7265.
