Morton Hospital and its board of directors recently announced that James P. Hoye, MD, has been appointed to chairman of the board. Hoye has practiced in the greater Taunton community as a family medicine specialist for the past 23 years and has been a member of the hospital’s board of directors for several years.
In his new role, Hoye will be responsible for facilitating the board of directors meetings and discussions, as well as ensuring that the hospital continues to provide high quality care to the community through various services and patient care initiatives.
“It is with great excitement and hope that I take on this responsibility,” said Hoye. “Having been deeply involved in the process that resulted in choosing Steward as our future, I am well aware of the opportunities that being part of this organization brings. I look forward to the many exciting improvements happening at Morton Hospital this coming year and hope we can continue to keep our community abreast of these improvements and ongoing accomplishments.”
Kim Bassett, RN, BSN, MBA, Morton Hospital president, added, “Morton Hospital is fortunate to have someone like Dr. Hoye agree to take on this responsibility. His years of service and dedication to this community will serve our board well.”
Hoye stated that his goals for the coming year include fostering close
working relationships among Morton and Steward representatives, and
developing closer collaboration and enhanced board input into higher
level decisions facing the hospital.
Hoye currently practices in North Dighton with his wife Kelly Hoye, MD, and their staff.
