Morton Hospital to Offer New Stroke Support Group

Morton Hospital will begin a new Stroke Support Group on Tuesday, January 19 from 11 am to noon in the hospital’s Cafeteria Annex.  The group is designed for both patients and caregivers and will be facilitated by staff from the hospital’s Speech, Hearing and Language Center, along with rehabilitation services and care management specialists. 

Bi-monthly meetings, held on the third Tuesday of every other month, will consist of education and discussion on a variety of topics, including: Making Your Home Safe and Reducing Your Risk of Falls, Speech and Language Difficulties, Care for the Caregiver – Handling Depression, Anger and Your New Life, and Getting Back into the Social Scene – Activities for the Post-Stroke Patient.
