Letter to the Editor: Celebrate Doctors Day on March 30

To the Editor:

Over our 130-year history, Morton Hospital has been fortunate to maintain a caring and talented team of physicians who have touched the lives of so many in our community. Within the past two years alone, more than 15 new specialists and primary care doctors – who have trained at prestigious institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Medical Center and Brown University - have joined the high caliber of providers on our medical team and dedicated themselves to serving as partners in health to individuals and families in our area. From our new weight loss, vascular and breast surgeons to specialists in the areas of pain management and pulmonology, we continue to work hard to recruit doctors who meet the most prevalent health and wellness needs of local residents.

The annual National Doctors’ Day observance, held on March 30th, provides our hospital and community the perfect opportunity to express our appreciation for all that our doctors do – from helping us stay healthy to providing us with care and comfort in times of need.

Our doctors are the backbone of our hospital, and without them, our community hospital would not exist. They have helped us maintain the highest level of quality care, served as advocates for our patients and families, and oftentimes, saved lives.

In honor of the Doctors’ Day observance, I hope our community will join with us in saying “thank you” to our extraordinary physicians in Taunton and surrounding communities for the critical role they play.
