Morton Hospital Donates Hospital Beds to Guatemala

In collaboration with the humanitarian organization American Medical Resources Foundation (AMRF), Morton Hospital was pleased to recently donate 20 mechanical hospital beds to help support patient care at health care facilities in the country of Guatemala, where these types of mechanical beds are highly desired.

The beds previously served elderly patients at the Taunton Nursing Home facility before being donated to Morton Hospital to support our patient demand during the COVID pandemic. The beds will now go on to assist the less fortunate in Guatemala where they have also suffered from the COVID pandemic as well as devastating hurricanes in 2020.

Morton Hospital’s very own Tom Magliocchetti, Sr. Director of Facilities & Operations, is a co-founder of AMRF, which has shipped more than 500 containers of used but fully functional medical equipment and supplies donated by American hospitals to underdeveloped and developing countries across the globe over the past three decades.
