Morton Hospital and Nursing Staff Reach Agreement on New Contract

Today, Steward Health Care’s Morton Hospital ratified a new contract with their nursing staff, represented by the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

“Morton Hospital deeply values our nursing staff’s contributions to both our hospital and the communities we serve, and this newly ratified contract reflects our joint commitment to providing our patients with high-quality care in the local community,” said Morton Hospital President Heidi Taylor. “We’re proud to have worked together collaboratively to reach this agreement and are glad to see it accepted by our nurses. Going forward, Morton Hospital and our talented nurses will continue to serve the Greater Taunton community and beyond with the excellence and dedication our patients expect from us.”

The agreement solidifies the hospital’s commitment to investing in its workforce and falls on the heels of several recent successful hiring events hosted by the hospital to continue to recruit and hire additional staff to support its expanding service lines. Following the opening of its new MORCAP substance use disorder treatment unit in December of 2021, Morton Hospital achieved its fourth consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group and was named “Best Hospital” in the 2021 Best of the Best Community Choice Awards for the Metro South region.
